Nexus and FACTS are excited to announce a new partnership that will expand and strengthen FACTS programming serving families and children throughout Minnesota.
By affiliating with Nexus, a national nonprofit with a 45-year record of providing high-quality children’s mental and behavioral health services in five states, FACTS will be able to expand the successful programs it has developed over the past 14 years, including in-home and outpatient individual and family psychotherapy, as well as specialized treatment programs for families and preschool-aged children.
FACTS is a critical addition to the broader Nexus family as Nexus looks to continue to grow its family-focused community mental health programming and proactively invest in innovative models of care. Nexus exists to heal the past traumas, break the cycle of abuse and neglect, and change the future for children and families by strengthening mental health. Nexus helps families manage the most difficult situations so that childhood emotional and behavioral symptoms do not carry into adulthood. Most importantly, we exist to give children and families hope and the opportunity to keep families together as they grow stronger.
FACTS’ unique Collaborative Intensive Bridging Services (CIBS) program, which was developed and copyrighted by FACTS, will be a valuable addition to Nexus’ service offerings. CIBS combines intensive in-home therapeutic services with a short-term residential treatment placement and was recently selected to be part of the System of Care Grant in Minnesota. It is designed to coordinate in-home therapeutic services with the residential treatment staff during placement and continue providing these services to the child and family after the child returns home.
Nexus CEO Michelle Murray, who has witnessed the impact of CIBS firsthand at their Gerard Academy Facility, praised FACTS’ innovative model of care.
“Demand for these types of community-based services is increasing exponentially. By welcoming FACTS into the Nexus family, we will be able to increase their capacity to provide these critical services to those in need,” -Michelle Murray.
Nexus has worked with Guadalupe Alternative Programs (GAP) to support the day to day management of FACTS since January 2019 and this affiliation was a natural next step to further the partnership between the three organizations. Because of this existing relationship, the affiliation will be a seamless transition for FACTS’ clients, who will continue to receive the successful bridging services, outpatient therapy, home-based, and school-linked programming they have come to rely on.
“FACTS is thrilled to deepen our partnership with Nexus as a formal affiliate,” said Lynn Van Blarcum, Executive Director of FACTS. “FACTS and Nexus share common missions, values, and a commitment to serving children and families. We look forward to joining Nexus as a new partner in family healing.”
The affiliation between FACTS and Nexus will enhance the service offerings of both organizations while also helping Nexus achieve its core mission – Changing the course of a child’s life by stabilizing families and strengthening mental health.
