Nexus-Gerard Family Healing is offering a safeTALK Suicide Prevention training, presented by LivingWorks. LivingWorks is an organization with more than twenty years of experience in developing effective suicide prevention programs.
This free, 4-hour training is for anyone 15 years of age or older. You will learn a 4-step process using the acronym TALK (Tell, Ask, Listen, KeepSafe) to identify and engage individuals talking about suicide and how to connect them to further help and care. It will prepare you to raise and respond to concerns about suicide in relationships with family, friends, and co-workers. Light refreshments will be provided.

Presenter: Glen Bloomstrom
Glen Bloomstrom is the Director of Faith Community Engagement at LivingWorks Education. Glen is a 30-year US Army chaplain and combat veteran. Since retiring he has served as an adjunct seminary professor, training developer for the Department of Defense and suicide intervention trainer for numerous state health and agricultural initiatives. He is passionate to strengthen suicide prevention competencies in diverse community settings for clergy, counselors, veterans, and peer helpers. Under his leadership, LivingWorks fielded an online suicide prevention-training program for clergy and ministry leaders entitled LivingWorks Faith.
